Went to Langkawi in Jan 2010 for 7 days . It's a nice quiet island on the North West Malaysia. Abt 30 mins flight from KL .Langkawi Oriental Village is located right next to the well-known Langkawi cable car.The Cable Car system is the latest tourist attraction for Langkawi and is located at the Oriental Village, a theme shopping centre housed in 30’s individually designed buildings showcasing Malaysian and Oriental architecture. The journey from the Base Station to Middle Station will cover 1,700 meters in length and upon reaching the Middle Station at an elevation of 650m above sea level, visitors will be able to alight and walk up to the viewing platforms.Visitors will enjoy panoramic view of the main island as well as the many surrounding islands. They will also be able to observe at close range the unique flora on the ridges and the forested valley between the Middle Station and the Top Station. After enjoying the beautiful view, visitors will then board back the gondolas, which will take them another 450 meters up to the Top Station. We have fun going up the cable car till it started to rain so we miss the walk on the hanging bridge as they were closed due to the weather.Lil D is not scared of the 2 yrs old python at all!!

Went for the Mangrove Tour at Langkawi . The scenic and spectacular views of unique limestone rock formations emerging from the floor of the mangrove swamp and seabed . Cruising down the Kilim River for Mangrove/Eagle-Feeding Tour.Onwards to Bat Cave, Fish Farm and Mangrove swamp .

Pantai Pasir Hitam is located on the north side of Pulau Langkawi, about 19 kilometers from Kuah town. The blackish colour of the sand of Pantai Pasir Hitam is the result of the mineral content in the sand - a mixture of granite with tourmaline, ilmenite and zircon.According to one local folklore, the original sand was transformed into black sand by an mermaid who became angry with a fisherman who broke his promise to her. Another folklore has it that the black sand was the result of the fierce battle that took place there between Garuda and Jentayu
